Heads Up Alabama: healthy living for mental health
https://sites.google.com/site/headsupalabama/
Heads Up Alabama! Psychology Promotes Healthy Living, a public education project of the Alabama Psychological Association Foundation, is taking an innovative approach to encourage healthy living.
Alabama artists were recently chosen in a juried process to decorate twenty three-foot fiberglass heads, using their own experiences and artistic bent. These awesome, larger-than-life heads will travel around the state carrying vital health messages about the connection between psychological factors and physical health.
The Heads will first be seen, accompanied by the health information, at the Central Branch of the Birmingham Public Library. After three weeks at the Library, the heads hit the road to Hoover, Huntsville, Gadsden and Mobile. At each venue, the public can see the heads and learn more about the ways that lifestyle changes can significantly impact one's overall health and well-being.
