“Bridging the Gap: Conversations with Living History”

 
Division of Youth Services Celebrates Black History Month with
3rd Annual “Bridging the Gap: Conversations with Living History” Today
 
Birminghamyouth and their families are invited to celebrate Black History Month by coming out to hear living legends on Tuesday, February 21st and Tuesday, February 28th as they share details about their historic contributions to the City of Birmingham. Guests will be treated to oral presentations and will be able to take part in up-close-and-personal chats with living legends of their choice.  This FREE event will be held from 6:00 pm until 7:30pm at DYS’ office. 
 
Bridging the Gap 2012 features:  Rachel Arrington, Funeral Home Director; Honorable Houston Brown, Judge for the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court;Dr. Isaac Ravizee, Physician;Dannetta Thornton-Owens, Educator;Larry Thornton, Entrepreneur;and  Dr. Jerome Williams, Veterinarian.
